MODEL OVERVIEW

About this model: Samsung WF45T6000AW/A5

WF45T6000AW/A5 is Samsung's white front-load washer with an LED panel, Self Clean+ and Smart Care.

Identify the exact front-load washer and its display

WF45T6000AW/A5 is Samsung's white front-load washer with an LED panel, Self Clean+ and Smart Care. The Canadian product page describes its capacity as 5.2 cubic feet by IEC measurement and 4.5 cubic feet by DOE measurement; these are two standards for the same machine, not two drum options. Samsung's separate WF45T6000AW specification and the WF45T6000A* family manual both give the 4.5-cubic-foot figure. The stated maximum spin speed is 1200 rpm. Confirm the full suffix on the appliance label before applying these notes, because the manual covers a family. Its page 32 shows a cycle dial and a display that can switch from remaining time to an information code. Write down the code exactly, including any final digit. The official exact-SKU page says this washer has no internal heater and no steam option; a heater row printed in the broader family code table should therefore not be assigned to this particular SKU.

Choose a cycle for the load before interpreting spin trouble

The ten listed cycles include Normal, Heavy Duty, Whites, Bedding, Activewear, Quick Wash, Delicates, Perm Press, Rinse+Spin and Self Clean. Activewear uses controlled drum movement for performance fabrics, while Bedding is intended for bulky comforters or sheets. Samsung advises washing one kind of bedding at a time; the loading guidance limits bedding to 3.0 kg and recommends a moderate spin setting. Quick Wash is intended for lightly soiled loads of four pounds or less. An overloaded or badly distributed drum can leave items wet and can trigger UB, so begin by checking what was loaded rather than guessing at a motor failure. Pre Soak adds thirty minutes at the beginning, and Delay End chooses a finish time from one to twenty-four hours. Spin Only is started by holding the Spin control for three seconds. These settings change the expected timing or motion, which is worth recording before troubleshooting.

Use the dispenser, door lock and cleaning reminders correctly

Use low-suds HE detergent and follow the detergent maker's quantity guidance. For powdered detergent, the manual says to remove the liquid-detergent container from the main-wash drawer first; powder should not go into that cup. The bleach compartment takes liquid chlorine bleach only and must stay below its maximum line. Garment+ means an item may be added after pausing, but wait until the Door Lock icon goes out before opening. Water left in the drum can also prevent the door from releasing. If Child Lock makes the keys appear inactive, hold Temp and Rinse together for three seconds to change that state. Self Clean is an empty-drum cycle. Its reminder appears after forty washes; Samsung recommends running it at least monthly or every forty cycles. The manual gives a specific bleach procedure for residue during Self Clean, so do not move that instruction to ordinary laundry cycles.

Follow the two different water paths during maintenance

A filling complaint and a draining complaint lead to different filters. Page 44 links a clogged inlet mesh filter with 4C; the manufacturer recommends cleaning those inlet filters once or twice yearly, more often with an older water system or a well. Page 46 links a clogged drain filter with 5C. Before opening that front filter, switch off and unplug the washer, release water through the emergency drain tube into a roomy container, then clean and reseat the filter as the manual shows. The drain filter is scheduled for cleaning five or six times a year. Check that its knob is secured afterward because an improperly closed filter can leak. The door diaphragm and drawer also need cleaning when residue or odor develops. Smart Care can scan the information-code display; if reflected light blocks the camera, the app allows manual entry. None of these steps requires opening energized internal parts.

Read the supported information codes by system

The owner's code table spans pages 55 and 56. On the first page, 1C points to the water-level sensor; DC means the door is open, and DC1 asks for a door-switch check. LC concerns leaks in the drain system. 4C directs attention to the water supply, 4C2 to water arriving too hot or to swapped tap connections, and 5C to drainage and the filter. Page 56 adds UB for an unbalanced spin, 8C/8C1/8C2 for the MEMS sensor, OC for possible overflow, 3C for motor operation, AC6 for communication, 9C1/9C2 for the electronic power supply, and SF for a system failure. Those grouped labels represent separate displayed strings, not one combined code. The manual recommends stopping and contacting Samsung for OC and SF; for many other rows it first suggests powering off, waiting two or three minutes, and trying again. A persistent code belongs with authorized service. Because this exact washer has no heater, the generic HC heater row is intentionally omitted from its model-specific list.
