MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: Samsung ME21DG6500SRAA
Samsung ME21DG6500SRAA is a Bespoke 2.1-cu-ft over-the-range microwave with Wi-Fi and Sensor Cook. Its exact-family manual documents five separate C-series information codes.
Identify this glass-panel over-the-range model
ME21DG6500SRAA is Samsung’s fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel, 2.1-cu-ft Bespoke microwave for installation over a range. The exact US product page names Auto Connectivity, Wi-Fi, Sensor Cook and an edge-to-edge glass display. More importantly for diagnostics, Samsung’s exact-SKU support page links the English owner PDF whose cover says ME21D*6500****: the G and SRAA positions fit this complete model number. The rendered panel on physical page 13 has a central display with Sensor Cook, Auto Cook, Reheat and Defrost controls, plus four-speed hood fan, cooktop lamp, Child Lock and Stop Eco. These labels locate a message before any interpretation. A dark display alone can follow Eco Mode; an unresponsive button can be caused by Child Lock. Neither observation should be turned into one of the five C-codes without the code actually appearing.
Read the five information codes literally
Page 38 has an actual information-code table, and the suffix matters. C-10 means the GAS sensor is open or shorted; the manual calls for unplugging and a local Samsung service center. C-F0 is internal communication failure, while C-F1 is an EEPROM read or write problem. The table likewise directs disconnection and service for those conditions. Do not infer a user-accessible replacement part from these short descriptions. C-F2 instead says a touch button malfunctioned: press Stop and try the button again. C-d0 means the controls have been touched for more than ten seconds. Clean and dry the keys, check for water around them, then if the code returns switch off for more than 30 seconds; contact Samsung if it repeats. Write down the entire code, including letter case and hyphen, before explaining it to support.
Distinguish Sensor Cook from timed programs
The cooking modes explain some behavior that resembles a fault to a new owner. Sensor Cook asks for a food category, then senses the food during operation; page 22 says to add cooking time if the result is not fully cooked. Auto Cook on page 23 uses a preprogrammed time, so it is a different process despite the similar name. Weight Defrost chooses time and power from the entered food weight and may beep so the food can be turned. Manual microwave cooking offers ten power levels and can run two successive stages. The turntable’s off option is limited to manual cooking, and the manual recommends leaving it on for even heating. Use microwave-safe cookware that permits energy to reach the food. These checks give useful context before concluding that a Sensor Cook result or a stopped turntable proves C-10.
Check connected settings and a locked panel
For connectivity, Settings can enable or disable Wi-Fi and can also change sounds, weight units, clock format and the filter reminder. SmartThings can show status and remotely control the hood fan and lamp; the owner manual explicitly says cooking cannot be started remotely for safety. A weak Wi-Fi connection can interrupt smart functions without producing a C-F0 diagnosis. The Child Lock key takes a three-second hold, and the troubleshooting table names active Child Lock as a cause of controls that will not respond. If the display is blank, check Stop Eco before assuming the electronics failed. When Filter Remind is enabled, a Filter message appears on a four-month schedule for cleaning or replacing the grease filter. It is a maintenance reminder, not one of the information codes on page 38. Record the display word and whether cooking, the fan or only the app was affected.
Maintain the hood and clean the touch surface
As an over-the-range model, the microwave also works as a hood. Page 28 says its protective fan can start automatically when internal parts overheat and may stay on until they cool; a fan that ignores an immediate off command is therefore not automatically C-F0. The reusable grease filter is to be removed and cleaned at least monthly. For a recirculating installation, the charcoal filter is replaced every six to twelve months or sooner when needed; it is not washed clean. The glass control surface should be wiped with a damp cloth and dried, without sprays or abrasive tools. That care is especially relevant to C-d0, where water or a persistently touched key is the first check. Keep the actual installation type, recent cleaning, filter reminder and full code together when requesting service.
