MODEL OVERVIEW

About this model: Samsung DW80B7070US/AA

Samsung DW80B7070US/AA dishwasher with exact-support information codes, StormWash+ and Smart Dry guidance.

Identify this Samsung and its applicable manual

The exact Samsung listing labels DW80B7070US/AA as a Bespoke dishwasher with a 42 dBA sound rating, StormWash+ and a fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish. ENERGY STAR certification appears on that same product page. These are useful identifiers when a similarly named DW80B appliance is nearby: the suffix matters before using a repair table. Samsung's support entry for DW80B7070US/AA supplies the English user manual whose cover says DW80B70* Series. Within it, the control illustration explicitly covers DW80B7* units, so its display and information-code guidance can be applied to this SKU. The document distinguishes a lower rack for pans and plates from upper positions for smaller dishes. The StormWash+ zone is a loading choice for demanding cookware, while the published 42 dBA describes the listed appliance rather than a promise that every installation will be inaudible.

Load and dose for the chosen cycle

Load pans in the lower rack with their openings facing down, and check that an item above does not stop the upper nozzle from turning. This matters more than filling every illustrated place setting: a blocked spray path can leave clean-looking space but dirty dishes. The manual's Auto cycle detects soil and adjusts its selection after several minutes; Heavy addresses a tougher load, while Express 60' is described as taking about an hour. Samsung gives a detergent table rather than one quantity for every wash. Auto and Normal show 20 g in the main dispenser plus 10 g for pre-wash; the Heavy and Express rows specify more. Use detergent made for dishwashers, because ordinary hand dish soap creates excessive foam and may impair operation. Before attributing a disappointing cycle to an error code, record the chosen program, load pattern and actual detergent dose.

Drying and controls that can look unusual

Smart Dry with the AutoRelease door is a feature of this exact product, and the manual explains several states that are normal. SmartDry Low is Samsung's recommended routine drying option; its heated-air circulation can extend a cycle. The lower-right hot-air outlet must not be blocked by dishes, and heat-sensitive plastic should stay away from that outlet. An AutoRelease door that has just opened may resist manual closing for two minutes by design. The control display ordinarily shows cycle time or Delay Start information, but a problem brings an information code and warning sound. Delay Start can be set up to 24 hours in one-hour steps. Control Lock disables the ordinary buttons except POWER and remains active after restart, so an unresponsive selector is not automatically a failed panel. Samsung also lists Wi-Fi; the manual limits the connection to 2.4 GHz, which is worth checking before blaming the dishwasher for a missing SmartThings status.

Separate leakage, inlet and drain codes

If an actual code appears, transcribe the characters before switching power off. LC means a leakage check: when a water-supply valve connection leaks, Samsung directs the owner to shut that valve, turn the dishwasher circuit breaker off and contact the installer. A persistent LC goes to authorized service. The nearby-looking 4C has a different path: check whether the supply valve is shut, clogged or frozen and whether the delivered pressure is sufficient. For 5C, Samsung points instead to the drain hose and the drain opening inside the sump; after closing the water supply, inspect whether the hose is folded or obstructed. An inlet restriction is not proved by a drain warning, and a leak warning is not an invitation to keep running test cycles. These three codes share the water system but call for distinct observations and different limits on owner action.

Heating and pump codes call for different actions

The remaining codes should not be collapsed into one generic heater fault. HC is a high-temperature heating check; the manual permits a functional check with an empty dishwasher and detergent, followed by breaker shutdown and service if it recurs. HC2 identifies dry-heater failure, for which Samsung says to turn the machine off and on and retry before service. HC4 is dry-heater overheating, with an instruction to unplug before contacting service. Codes 3C and PC concern pump operation and zone wash respectively; for either, Samsung suggests turning the dishwasher off and trying to start it again, then using authorized service if the condition remains. Record whether SmartDry High or Low, StormWash+ or Lower Rack was selected when the warning appeared. That context helps a technician, but the code table does not itself identify a replaceable part or authorize opening electrical components.
