MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: Midea MRS26D7AST
Midea MRS26D7AST: ten verified refrigerator fault codes, panel operation and ice-circuit context.
Identify the exact refrigerator
MRS26D7AST is Midea's stainless steel, two-door side-by-side refrigerator with a 26.3 cubic foot overall capacity. The exact model sheet divides that volume into 13.1 cubic feet for fresh food and 13.2 for the freezer. Its external dispenser supplies water as well as cubed or crushed ice; the removable ice bin sits in the freezer. The electronic touch panel and LED lighting make this a different appliance from a basic dial-controlled refrigerator. Check the full model label before using a code from this page: Midea's cover actually prints MRS26D7AST, and the manufacturer's product-documentation component links the owner guide and a specification sheet for that SKU. The cabinet measures 35.9 inches wide, 33.9 inches deep and 69.9 inches high according to the exact sheet. Humidity-controlled crisper drawers, spillproof glass shelves and fingerprint-resistant steel describe its storage and finish, but they do not explain a fault code by themselves.
Set it up before interpreting symptoms
The owner guide treats this as a freestanding refrigerator, with more than 100 mm of space from adjacent walls for air circulation. It specifies a grounded 115 V, 60 Hz outlet for the appliance alone. The dispenser and ice maker need potable cold water at 30–100 psi; a poorly connected supply can affect ice or water performance without identifying an electronic fault. After initial connection the guide advises allowing two to three hours of cooling before adding food, and more than four hours in high summer temperatures. A level cabinet helps the doors close, while a shutoff valve and leak check matter after connecting the water line. Those are sensible first observations for a newly installed machine. They should be documented separately from a code displayed by the panel. Do not infer that a sensor or board has failed merely because a warm cabinet or empty ice bin appeared during the first cooling period.
Read the panel in its normal state
At first power-up the manual gives set temperatures of 39°F for the refrigerator and 0°F for the freezer. With no fault, the panel displays the two set temperatures. Its controls lock automatically after 30 seconds without a door opening or button operation; a three-second hold unlocks them, and temperature changes take effect after the panel is locked again. Super Cool and Super Freeze are modes reached from the minimum settings, rather than errors. The Ice Maker button switches that function on or off. A filter reminder has its own reset action: hold the specified control for four seconds after dealing with the filter. The display normally dims after 30 seconds while locked, but a visible fault wakes it. The manual also describes a door-prompt tone after the door remains open for over two minutes. When collecting evidence for service, photograph the exact letters and numbers before pressing keys; the temperature display, a mode light, a filter reminder and a fault code convey different things.
Separate cooling sensors from communication faults
The owner's fault table assigns E1 to the refrigerator-compartment temperature sensor and E2 to the freezer-compartment temperature sensor. E5 concerns the freezer defrost sensor; E7 concerns ambient temperature; EH is another temperature-sensor fault without a more specific location in this table. E6 is a communication fault between the display board and main board. These names are Midea's descriptions, not instructions to replace a particular part yourself. The guide says cooling may still continue under the listed faults, yet it tells the user to contact maintenance personnel so normal use can be assured. Therefore record whether food in each compartment is staying appropriately cold, note the displayed code and seek qualified service for a persistent code. Do not turn E7 into a freezer fault or assume EH identifies a sensor location that the manual does not state. The five temperature-related codes and the board-communication code should remain distinct in any diagnosis or search result.
Keep the ice circuit's four codes distinct
Midea lists E0 as an ice-machine fault, EE as an ice-machine sensor fault, CA as a communication fault involving the ice-making board and main board, and EP as an ice-machine “off ice” fault. The last phrase is awkward in the English PDF; it is safer to preserve its wording than to claim a specific broken mechanism. Before calling service, an owner can note whether the Ice Maker light is on, whether the freezer door closes, and whether the removable bin is seated. The manual says ice and water dispensing stops when the freezer door opens. It also explains that valve buzzing, water flow, cubes dropping and crushing sounds can be normal. Clumped ice can block the outlet; the cleaning section describes removing and clearing the bin. These observations give a technician context, but none of them cancels the fault table. If CA or EE remains visible, a clean bin alone is not evidence that the communication or sensor issue has been repaired.
Use the fault table and care guide together
The table's ten entries are E0, E1, E2, E5, E6, E7, EH, EE, CA and EP; there is no need to invent a missing sequence. For a code, write down the exact display, when it appeared, both compartment temperatures if available, and whether ice dispensing or cooling is affected. The owner guide then provides a separate general troubleshooting table for no operation, odor, long compressor runs, a dark light, a poorly closing door and loud noises. Such symptoms have ordinary checks, including power, food packages blocking the door and a level floor, and they should not be relabeled as one of the ten electronic faults. The refrigerator defrosts automatically, while the manual describes cleaning shelves, door trays, vegetable drawers and the ice container. Use those maintenance directions for routine care and the manufacturer's service route for persistent fault prompts. The exact specification lists a two-year limited parts-and-labor warranty, so retaining the model and purchase details can help during a service request.
