MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: LG LDNTH862S
LG LDNTH862S: a 39 dB top-control dishwasher with documented display codes and drying-system diagnostics.
Match the 39 dB FlushFit model
LDNTH862S is LG's top-control dishwasher with a FlushFit cabinet profile, not a generic front-button variant. Its exact official specification states 39 dB operation, sixteen place settings, a stainless tub and a three-level adjustable third rack. BlastZone is a bottle-wash feature alongside QuadWash Pro; the spec also gives a 23 3/4-inch body width and depth. Those details help identify the machine before interpreting a photographed message or ordering a rack. The owner booklet covers LDNTH862* on its first page, while the separate two-page spec explicitly prints LDNTH862S on page two. That combination ties the family troubleshooting table to this exact stainless SKU. Supply pressure is specified at 20 to 80 psi; a water symptom after installation should be considered in that physical context.
Read the panel and floor light before resetting
The bottom light is more useful when its color and behavior are recorded. In the linked manual a white LED pulses during a wash, remains lit when the cycle finishes and goes out when the door opens. A flashing red LED, by contrast, points to an error and sends the reader to the troubleshooting codes. The hidden top panel becomes visible after POWER is pressed; its digital display normally shows estimated duration or Delay Start hours. Delay can be set from one to twelve hours, so a number with no red warning may simply be a scheduled start. A Tub Clean light flashes every thirty cycles, the rinse-aid light has its own refill role, and CL means Control Lock. Downloaded-cycle identifiers are also marked as nonerrors. Note all illuminated indicators, not just two characters on the screen.
Trace inlet, drain and suds messages separately
The installed wash choices include Auto, Heavy, Normal, 1-Hour and Downloaded; the short program is a named cycle, not a fault response. When IE appears, check whether the inlet supply is available and whether its accessible hose is kinked, frozen or obstructed. OE moves the investigation to discharge: the drain hose, air gap or disposal and filters can block water leaving the tub. Cleaning an inlet will not fix a blocked outlet, which is why copying a single generic water checklist misses the distinction. bE addresses excess suds from hand dish soap or very foamy food and can also arise if the dishwasher is not level. Use automatic-dishwasher detergent and check the installation before trying again. Avoid treating the white end light as another error after either inspection.
Treat leak, heater and sensor messages as service cases
AE requires a different level of caution. It is the water-leakage warning: the owner table says to turn off the supply and contact LG. Its drain pump can run intermittently, and the appliance may power itself back on until AE is resolved; repeated button presses are not proof that the leak has gone. The exact SKU specification also lists ThinQ auto leak detection. FE means excessive water was supplied and likewise belongs with LG service. HE identifies the heater circuit, whereas tE points specifically to the water-temperature sensor. These labels indicate different internal systems, so a single proposed replacement part for all of them would be misleading. Record the code and whether water is visible, isolate the supply for AE, and give service the full LDNTH862S model from the rating plate.
Connect drying hardware to its own codes
The drying system is unusually relevant on this model. The exact spec names Dynamic Heat Dry with AutoVent Dry, and the manual says Auto Open Dry opens the door during the drying stage when its safety conditions are met. Normal door movement, the displayed End state and a little residual moisture on plastic are not themselves motor failures. F31 instead identifies the heat-air dry fan motor, while F37 identifies the Auto Open Dry motor. LE belongs to the wash motor and nE to the Vario motor; LG's table directs these component faults to service. The third rack and BlastZone support different loading patterns, but they do not change the meaning of these codes. Before reporting a drying complaint, capture whether the door actually opened, whether a red LED flashed and which precise code remained on the display.
