MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: LG LDFC353LS
LG LDFC353LS front-control dishwasher: exact manual and real IE/OE/bE/AE/FE/HE/tE/LE/NE fault codes.
Match the front-control model
LDFC353LS is a 24-inch LG dishwasher with a pocket handle and controls visible along the top front of its door. LG's exact product and support pages select an owner PDF whose cover says LDFC353**, and its separate specification sheet names LDFC353LS itself. The specification lists fifteen place settings, a third rack, a 50 dBA noise rating and five built-in cycles: Auto, Heavy, Normal, Turbo and Machine Clean. The front panel has a numeric time display beside buttons for Flex Zone, High Temp., Extra Dry and Delay Start. Dynamic Dry uses a two-stage fan to help move moisture after washing. These details matter when searching for help: a top-control SIGNATURE machine with a floor light or steam option can use different controls and instructions despite sharing some LG error letters. Check the model plate and the front display before interpreting a code.
Read routine panel information before faults
Normal screen information is easy to mistake for a failure. The owner's panel page shows a rinse-aid icon that appears when the dispenser is low, a Machine Clean reminder and the Night Dry choice. It also shows Control Lock as CL. The troubleshooting table explicitly says CL is not an error; its LO/L1/L2/L3/L4 family is a rinse-aid setting mode and the numbered N/U/d/t patterns belong to test mode. At the end of an ordinary run the display shows ENd. If Start is pressed with the door open, it must be shut within four seconds; a flashing time and chime after that window mean the cycle did not begin, not that the machine developed a new fault code. LG describes an Auto cycle that senses soil and a Flex Zone choice for targeted cleaning. Keep the selected cycle, delay setting and any actual letters in a note rather than treating every display change as a repair request.
Trace inlet and drain paths
IE and OE are useful because they place the problem on opposite sides of the tub. The manual calls IE a water-inlet problem: check whether the tap is open and whether the incoming hose is kinked, frozen or clogged. OE means drainage has not worked. Examine the drain hose for compression and inspect the external air gap or disposal, which the manual says are plumbing parts outside the dishwasher. Its cleaning instructions also say food caught in the filter set can cause drainage problems. Turn the inner filter to remove it, wash the parts with a soft brush, then refit them until the assembly clicks. The specification gives 2.9 gallons per cycle; that efficiency figure is not a target for owners to measure inside a stopped machine. A clogged filter may cause poor cleaning even before OE appears, so maintenance and diagnostic codes should be considered together without inventing extra display meanings.
Know which faults need service
The next group calls for different responses. bE can come from hand dish soap or heavily foaming food, and the same table also lists failure to level the machine. Use detergent made for automatic dishwashers and check its installation before replacing a motor. AE is a water-leak alert: LG says to turn off the supply, contact service and expect intermittent protective pump operation, even if power is turned off. FE means excessive water supplied. HE is the heater circuit, tE the water-temperature sensor, LE the wash motor and NE the Vario motor. For these faults LG refers owners to service; their similar two-letter shape does not make them interchangeable. The exact table appears on rendered owner pages 36 and 37, beneath the display and family cover evidence. Record the case of each letter, whether the pump continues and whether water is visible, then give that description with LDFC353LS to the technician.
