MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: GE PTW700BPTDG
PTW700BPTDG: exact Infusor/Flex Dispense variant with four documented help signals.
Which PTW700 layout applies
PTW700BPTDG is GE Profile's diamond-gray top-load washer with a 5.4-cubic-foot stainless basket and an Infusor rather than a tall central agitator. Its exact product specification gives an 800-rpm maximum spin, a clear soft-close lid, capacitive touch controls with a center knob, ten base cycles plus three downloadable choices, and built-in WiFi. The owner PDF linked by that exact GE page puts PTW700 on its cover. Its sixth page has two control drawings because the booklet also serves PTW805, PTW800 and lower families. The upper drawing shows the dual Power/Care sliders, Smart Wash, Deep Fill and Tangle Control arrangement that aligns with this SKU. The product listing names a Flex Dispense drawer, and page twelve explains that drawer separately from the bulk SmartDispense tank described for higher models. Thus a detergent-tank warning from a PTW805 should not be presumed to exist on this machine. The seventh page then gives actual display messages for the electronics seen on the PTW700 layout. This chain of product features, manual cover, variant controls and message table is why its problem guidance can be tied to the model rather than to a generic top-loader.
Help messages versus normal states
The display has both normal process words and help signals. bALAnCINg means the washer is redistributing laundry; SEnSIng evaluates load and balance, FILL denotes water entry, dELAY reflects a chosen postponed start, and PAUSE follows an open lid or a press of Start/Pause. None of those words alone proves a fault. H2O SUPPLY is different: the machine cannot sense the expected water level, so check the household hot and cold valves; GE specifies a four-minute interval before controls respond again, and unplugging resets that wait. CAnCELEd can scroll after a pause longer than twenty-four hours or a premature stop; let its four-minute lockout finish and seek service if it recurs. The manual's Lid help message can arise after three cycles begun without opening the lid, while its LId status line also says an open lid stopped a cycle. Open and securely close the lid, then restart when safe. A blinking Spin lamp points to imbalance, which can leave clothes unusually wet. Redistribute the load and choose Drain & Spin. Separately, the Spin Stop state means the basket is coasting and the lid will release only when it has fully stopped.
Flex Dispense and special controls
The PTW700's wash path is also different from a SmartDispense-equipped panel. GE lists Flex Dispense for liquid or powdered detergent, laundry packs, softener and a custom additive; the manual's page twelve names the associated drawer. Check its marked compartments and the chosen rinse option before adding a product, instead of trying to fill the absent bulk tank described elsewhere in the family guide. The machine uses an Infusor, so dry items should be placed loosely and evenly around the outside of the basket, then toward the center for larger loads. Overpacking can impair cleaning and increase the imbalance signaled by blinking Spin. The exact spec lists four rinse-level choices and a Smart Wash setting. For special loads, Deep Fill can add roughly three gallons with one press before starting; a three-second hold requests the deepest available fill, which takes longer. Tangle Control changes the motion profile and can lengthen a cycle, while Auto Soak offers fifteen, thirty, sixty or one-hundred-twenty minutes. These are deliberate options whose altered time estimates should not be confused with CAnCELEd.
Cycles and service context
For cycle choice, this specific washer includes Sanitize with Oxi, Quick Wash, towels and sheets, Bulky, Delicates and a Downloaded position. The Oxi sanitation instructions call for the additive as well as detergent, with measurements taken from the labels; selecting the program alone does not replace the additive. GE's connected feature can supply extra specialty cycles through SmartHQ, including an Active Wear default for the Downloaded position. Microban treatment is specified for the drawer, cap, tub cover and drain hose, while the easy-close glass lid makes it straightforward to verify the latch area. If the lid is opened with water present and left open for fifteen minutes, the manual says the washer can cancel and drain; that behavior should be considered before treating a stopped load as a mysterious code. If CAnCELEd or H2O SUPPLY repeats after the stated checks, note the exact letters shown and the PTW700BPTDG model number for service.
