MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: GE PB975TMWW
GE Profile PB975TMWW is a True White double-oven electric range with QuickSet VI glass-touch controls. Its exact-linked manual documents F function errors, LOCKED door states and Range Locked controls.
Match the white PB975 to the right two-oven panel
PB975TMWW is a GE Profile 30-inch double-oven electric range in True White. The exact GE product record lists a QuickSet VI glass-touch control, DigiTemp display and True European convection with Precise Air. Its linked owner PDF names PB975 on the cover beside PB970 and PB976. The linked GE Quick Specs sheet goes further: physical page 2 explicitly lists the TMWW finish and depicts the upper/lower oven console. That drawing matches the owner manual’s page 10, where separate cavity keys, numeric entry, convection, probe and Slow Cook appear. Page 11 is an alternate panel layout and should not silently be treated as the same console. GE’s older Quick Specs gives a different total and upper capacity from the current exact product page; this guide therefore avoids capacity numbers and identifies the appliance through its controls and functions.
Separate three messages before resetting the range
Read the whole display before acting. On page 40, F followed by a number or letter is a general oven function error. GE directs disconnecting all range power for at least 30 seconds, restoring it and requesting service if the code returns. The manual does not map each F suffix to an internal component. LOCKED is a door state connected with self-clean: if it flashes after a cycle was selected, the doors may be open; if it remains on after cleaning, the oven must cool below lock temperature. Page 41 uses the distinct words Range Locked for deliberately locked touchpad controls. The matching page 10 panel unlocks them by holding CONTROL LOCK for three seconds. A flashing clock after an outage is another separate event. Record whether the upper oven, lower oven or cleaning cycle was active instead of treating all messages as the same fault.
Use each oven cavity for its documented strengths
The two cavities do different jobs. The upper oven has a dedicated rack with two positions and a Pizza mode that selects fresh or frozen food, while GE directs large angel-food or Bundt cakes to the lower oven. The lower cavity has six rack positions, a hidden bake element and True European convection; its multi-rack choice is suited to spaced trays of biscuits or similar baked goods. The convection fan can reverse direction with a pause, a normal behavior noted in the manual. PB975TMWW also confirms a temperature probe, and the probe instructions stop cooking when the selected internal food temperature is reached. The lower Slow Cook setting distinguishes Beef, Poultry, Pork and Stew, then moves into Warm when the programmed interval ends. Those different controls are useful context if a displayed time or mode seems unexpected.
Understand the tri-ring, bridge and residual-heat lights
The ceramic-glass cooktop has a 6/9/12-inch tri-ring ribbon element, an 800-watt bridge element and a low-power warming zone. Match the tri-ring size to the pan; the bridge joins heating areas for suitable large cookware, while the warming zone is for already hot food rather than starting a cold dish. GE specifies five hot-surface indicators on this exact SKU. The owner page about radiant units says an indicator can remain lit until its corresponding area cools below about 150°F, even after the element has been turned off. That lingering light is not an F oven-control code. Flat-bottomed pans are recommended; rough or sliding cookware can damage the glass. Noting which element was selected, which indicator stayed on and whether an oven message appeared keeps cooktop heat behavior distinct from electronic diagnostics.
Plan cleaning and control lock around both cavities
PB975TMWW has self-clean in both ovens, an automatic door lock, four heavy-duty self-clean racks and a control-lock capability. Before cleaning, the manual removes the probe, cookware, broiler equipment and foil and asks for heavy soil to be wiped up. When a self-clean cycle starts, both oven doors and the cooktop controls lock; both cavities can be scheduled, but their cleaning cycles run one after the other. This explains why a second oven may appear to wait and why a cooktop knob or oven door cannot be used until the control reports cooling. LOCKED flashing calls for closing the doors; a door that is still locked after the cycle needs time, not force. Range Locked outside that sequence is the separate touchpad lock. Keep the precise display wording with the full TMWW model suffix when arranging service.
