MODEL OVERVIEW

About this model: GE GTW755CSMWS

GTW755CSMWS Water Station and SmartDispense instructions, with H2O SUPPLY, LId, CAnCELEd and Spin meanings.

Identify the Water Station variant

GTW755CSMWS is GE's 4.9-cubic-foot, White on White top-loader with silver backsplash, dual-action agitator and stainless-steel basket. The exact GE listing says ten cycles plus Water Station, an 800-RPM maximum spin, digital countdown, LED status lights, built-in Wi-Fi, a soft-close glass lid and a 75-ounce SmartDispense tank. The linked PDF cover names GTW755, but the manual spans four families. Its page-6 upper panel includes the Water Station and Smart Dispense buttons found on this exact variant; the lower pictured panel belongs to the stain-guide family. The full CSMWS suffix is not printed in the manual, so use the exact product page for finish and capacity.

Water Station is a pretreatment step

The Water Station is a faucet within the washer opening, meant for treating clothes before a real wash program. On its dial position, Select chooses plain Water or Detergent + Water, Temp chooses the desired temperature, and Start begins the flow when the lid is raised. The manual explicitly says this feature is not an actual wash cycle. Water left in the tub drains automatically after 15 minutes with the lid open, or after 24 hours with it closed and no wash program selected. Turning the dial to a wash cycle or holding Start also drains the pretreatment water as described. The automatic Water Station drain has its own timing; the manual does not say it triggers CAnCELEd, whose listed causes are a long pause or certain errors.

SmartDispense changes where detergent belongs

Page 13 labels SmartDispense for GTW750 and GTW755. In AUTO, this model measures load size and chooses a detergent amount; the key can instead choose Small, Normal or Large. The liquid reservoir holds approximately 75 ounces, enough for roughly 50 average loads according to the manual. There is no ordinary detergent drawer on this variant. To dose manually for one load, set SmartDispense OFF and put the detergent directly in the basket. The rear dispensing spout must not be pulled out as if it were a removable drawer. These details distinguish a blocked bulk feed or wrong setting from a water-supply alert, which concerns incoming water rather than the detergent tank.

Decode H2O SUPPLY, LId and CAnCELEd

H2O SUPPLY says the control cannot sense water level; closed inlet valves are one documented possibility, and page 24 also describes blocked valve screens for low flow. The message starts a four-minute control lockout. Unplugging to bypass it restarts that timer. LId first means an open lid stopped the cycle; the Consumer Help Indicator table also uses LId after three starts without opening the lid. CAnCELEd can follow a pause beyond 24 hours or a stop from certain errors, with another four-minute lockout. Blinking Spin instead records rebalancing. Let the cycle finish, then redistribute a wet load and use Drain & Spin. Record the exact display before resetting it.

Maintain the bulk system and separate additives

For GTW755, liquid softener goes in the small rear drawer, whereas bleach has its own single-use opening and must not exceed one cup per load. These are separate from the 75-ounce detergent reservoir. The manual gives that reservoir a GTW755-specific clean-out procedure, and calls for an empty Basket Clean cycle at least monthly. GE's exact accessory list sells the fill hose separately, so verify installation parts rather than assuming the hoses were in the carton. Inlet hoses in service should be replaced every five years. If water still enters slowly with both faucets open, inspect the valve screens using the page-24 shutdown and reconnection steps before attributing H2O SUPPLY to the SmartDispense system.
