MODEL OVERVIEW

About this model: Bosch WGA14400UC

Bosch WGA14400UC: 300 Series controls, E:18 drain group, spin interruption and inlet alerts.

Confirm the white 300 Series layout

WGA14400UC is Bosch's white 300 Series compact front-load washer, not a trim version of the Pearl Steel 800 Series. Its exact specification identifies a 2.2 cubic foot stainless-steel drum, 1,400 rpm maximum spin, fifteen programs and six options. The cabinet is 23 1/2 inches wide and 24 1/4 inches deep; allow for the door and hoses rather than treating those cabinet dimensions as a complete installation clearance. Its left-hand door hinge cannot be reversed. The sheet calls the leak-protection system a reinforced hose, whereas other Bosch compact washers can carry a different water-protection name. It also says there is no interior drum light. These visible and technical details help check the rating label before applying a display explanation. Bosch links an English owner manual whose cover explicitly says WGA14400UC and a separate Spanish edition for the same model.

Read the basic display before assuming a breakdown

The 300 Series panel uses a short display legend: the estimated time can appear as hours and minutes, “10h” is a delayed program end, and “No Spin” deliberately drains without spinning. Washing, rinsing, spinning and “End” are program states, not fault codes. A lit lock symbol means the control panel is locked; flashing after a button press indicates that the lock is active. The door symbol has its own three states, and a flashing version means the door is not shut. Page 36 describes another false alarm: a dark display while Start/Pause flashes is energy-saving mode, for which Bosch says to press Start/Pause. On this machine the controls include PreWash and up to two Extra Rinse cycles. PreWash detergent belongs in compartment I and main-wash detergent in compartment II. These settings are more useful to check for a non-starting cycle than searching for an error code that is not displayed.

Trace the drain route for E:18 and its grouped alternatives

The owner table prints E:36 -10, E:30 -80 and E:18 as one drainage group; it does not give three unrelated fixes. The stated condition is that the detergent solution is not pumped out. Start with the outlet hose: a connection too high, a kink, a trapped section or an impermissible extension can all restrict flow. The drainpipe or hose may also be blocked. Bosch then directs the owner to the drain-pump procedure and asks that the pump cover be installed correctly. Excess detergent is another listed contributor, so the group alone does not prove a defective pump motor. This washer uses a conventional detergent drawer, and the guide calls for reducing the amount at the next cycle if dosing is excessive. Before opening the service area, follow the illustrated draining steps and allow for retained water. After pump emptying, the manual has a specific “before the next wash” procedure, including water in compartment II and a suitable draining program, to prevent unused detergent flowing directly to the outlet.

Interpret E:60 -2B, E:32 and H:32 as one spin interruption

This 300 Series manual prints E:60 -2B, E:32 and H:32 on the same row. They indicate that spinning was interrupted because the laundry is unevenly distributed, and the prescribed first step is to redistribute the load in the drum. Do not import the 800 Series table, which lists only H:32 for its comparable row. Page 39 also explains that several brief drum movements are normal attempts to correct imbalance; they are not by themselves evidence of motor failure. If high spin speed is not reached, the controller may intentionally use a reduced speed for the same reason. A user-selected low spin setting is a separate possibility when laundry remains wet. Check the selected speed, load distribution and whether a single bulky item is dominating the drum before escalating. If the washer visibly wanders, the manual also discusses alignment, fixed feet and removed transit bolts.

Separate inlet restrictions from E:30 -20

E:30 -10 and E:92 -01 appear together with a faucet icon. The table lists a closed tap, a kinked inlet hose, blocked inlet screens and low water pressure, so the display cannot identify one failed component on its own. The same group can also accompany a water-level measuring fault. If automatic draining begins, Bosch says to wait approximately five minutes for it to finish, restart and contact service if the problem remains. E:30 -20 is more urgent: the table labels it a critical malfunction and tells the user to turn off the faucet. It then describes a draining period, restart and service if the fault persists. The exact WGA14400UC spec names a reinforced-hose leak system; do not assume the AquaStop Plus behavior of another series. The two kinds of water warning require different responses even though both mention the inlet.

Record the precise message and keep maintenance model-specific

For all other fault codes, the manual advises a restart, then disconnection from power for at least thirty seconds if the fault recurs, followed by customer service if it continues. Bosch asks for the exact error text and, where possible, photos or video. Record whether the washer was filling, draining or spinning, as well as the selected program and spin setting. A heavy-foam symbol is different from those alphanumeric groups: page 38 associates it with too much detergent and a measured treatment in compartment II, with exclusions for certain fabrics. A flashing door icon calls for checking trapped laundry and closing the door; a locked panel can also prevent a start. For routine upkeep the guide explains cleaning the rubber gasket and pump. Internal electrical or leak repairs remain for qualified service. The model label and the actual code are better starting points than a generic list of Bosch errors.
